Rules and Regulations
Moving to Doha requires a lot of adaptation! Since you will be living in Qatar, you will need to abide by the laws of the country. This can be a huge cultural shock if you are not familiar with them. All Qatar Cabin Crew are provided with accommodation from the airline. Qatar Airways also pay for all bills, such as electricity and water. The only bill you have to pay yourself is
The accommodation you are provided could be located anywhere across Doha, but they are usually 20/30 minutes away from Doha airport. There are separate accommodation blocks for men and woman. At the start, you have no choice on your accommodation. But after 6 months you can apply to change.
Qatar Airways accommodation also has security, and you are required to swipe yourself in with a card. Security are there to check that only Qatar crew and their guests enter the grounds and that crew follow their minimum rest and curfew rules.
If you are married Qatar Airways will give you an allowance to find your own accommodation.
Are you allowed visitors?
Yes! However, there are restrictions in place. Any other crew members and any person who has a residence permit are allowed to visit you. Also, your family are allowed to visit. Any guest has to leave your accommodation by 10 pm. You are only allowed guests of the same gender to stay the night in your room. For example, a woman is allowed female crew members or their mother/sister to stay with them.
As you can see, Qatar Airways Cabin Crew life is very exciting. You get to move to a new city, experience a new culture and live with the friends you make while you work. However, this does require moving away from your family and friends and adapting to new rules and regulations.
