This post provides details on becoming Emirates Cabin Crew.
Emirates have a group careers website, where you can initially apply for a job as Emirates Cabin Crew. You can also attend one of their castings, which take place in cities throughout the year. These involve several stages such as an English test and role plays. If you are successful you will be asked to attend a one on one interview the next day.
The website details the minimum requirements for the job and qualities they think make a candidate stand out – which is useful to keep in mind when making your application!
You can apply through the website. You will need to make an application that includes a photo of yourself and a CV. Candidates then undergo an initial screening and are shortlisted. Many are then asked to complete some assessment exercises. If you are successful after this you will be called for a video interview.
If you need help tailoring your resume to the needs of the airline, I have a Cabin Crew CV Template and a 1:1 Cabin Crew tuition and guidance to help you out.
The final part of the application process will be an assessment day. This involves group discussions, where your leadership and teamwork will be assessed. There will also be an English test to make sure your English is up to scratch!
Finally, if you have stood out from the crowd, you will be asked to complete an online personality questionnaire at home! After you have completed this you will find out whether you have been successful.
All Cabin Crew will go through 8 weeks of training in Dubai, which involves regular assessments.
This training starts with an induction, aimed at providing you with all the information you’ll need. This is followed by safety and emergency procedures training, group medical training, and security training. You will also undergo image and uniform training and service personality.
You will then receive 12 days service training, 4 months on the job learning development and 3 days service assessments.
Being based in Dubai, you will have the opportunity to experience an international lifestyle. You will also have the opportunity to fly to many different places since Emirates fly to over 120 destinations.
You will receive a monthly roster with approximately 8 days off per month and will be entitled to leave after your 6 month probation period.
Your pay will be made up of 3 components: a fixed basic salary, an hourly pay for operated flights and an overseas allowance. Your salary is also tax free.
You will receive meal allowances, paid in the currency of the country where a night stop is made. Emirates also provide free transport to and from the airport and hotel accommodation.
You will be provided with free shared, furnished accommodation in Dubai. This is shared between 2/3 colleagues of the same gender. You will each have your own bedroom and will then share a kitchen and living area.
